HOW TO GET TO 6 LOWER BURCH ROW

1. If one is coming to Eyam from Sheffield via Fox House and Grindleford
Take Ecclesall Road and the A625 out of Sheffield, in the direction of Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith. This road will take you to a solitary country pub called Fox House.
Immediately past Fox House, instead of carrying on along the main road towards Hathersage, take the road to the left towards Grindleford, (and Bakewell).
Upon reaching Grindleford, continue on the main road to Bakewell. Once out of Grindleford there is a steep rise. At the top of that rise there is a road that goes off to the right, and was sign-posted "Eyam". The word "Eyam" to the right has been deleted, leaving just the word "Eyam" straight ahead. Take the road to the right.
Once in the village of Eyam, the first thing to be seen is a former council estate on the left. Just past the council estate there is a Wesleyan Reform Chapel, and opposite the Wesleyan Reform Chapel there is a three-storey stone-built former mill, now converted into six terraced cottages.
The three-storey former mill is Lower Burch Row. There is a small tarmac yard in front of it, and a small field. If you miss the three storey former mill, you'll be in The Square. You should turn back, and follow the directions below.
2. If one is coming to Eyam from the direction of Chesterfield or Manchester
When traveling along the main road between Chesterfield and Manchester called the A623, you will need to take the turning up to Eyam. The road from the main road to the village of Eyam is through Eyam Dale.
Go on as far as The Square, and follow the road round to the right (in the direction of the village of Grindleford).
A butcher's shop will be on your left, and Eyam Tea Rooms will be on your right. Fairly shortly afterwards you should be able to see a Wesleyan Reform Chapel on your right, and a three-storey 19th Century stone-built former mill with a small tarmac yard on the opposite side of the road, (on your left). The three-storey former mill is Lower Burch Row.
If you should miss the three-storey former mill, you will very quickly be out of the village of Eyam. You will need to turn back. The three-storey stone-built former mill will then be on your right, and the Wesleyan Reform Chapel on your left.
It is not necessarily immediately obvious that the former mill (now Lower Burch Row) is a taller building than all the others around it; but it is. All the surrounding buildings are no taller than two storeys.
If you have got a SATNAV, type in The Causeway, not 6 Lower Burch Row. For google maps go to http://www.google.co.uk and once at google search for Eyam and on your screen should appear a map indicating how to get to Eyam.
